Instrumental Studies with a focus on teaching is a case for dual careers - in the arts and in pedagogy: the Master's degree at the HfMDK is one of the rare courses that imparts artistic, pedagogical and scientific perspectives at an equally high level. It thus goes far beyond a traditional music teacher training.

Art, pedagogy and science at eye level

Fostering and developing talent, shaping and helping to shape musical life, inspiring and motivating others through one's own artistic excellence – all of these skills have always been important, but are even more so today. Our graduates encounter almost unlimited job opportunities, whether freelance, at a music school, vocational college or academy. Some also use their degree for a transition to a concert exam or doctorate.

Four semesters of practice

Students can expect a lot of theory – and at least as much practice:  Weekly teaching rehearsals, also in cooperation with the Frankfurt Music School, are an integral part of their studies right from the start. In individual lessons on the instrument, they also create new freedom for themselves to develop artistically.
