Violoncellist Zih-En Wei was born in 1997 in Taoyuan, Taiwan. He graduated from Taichung Second Senior High School. He is currently studying in master of music violoncello at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt under Prof. Michael Sanderling. He was studying before in R. Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf under Prof.  Pieter Wispelwey and Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris working with cellist Anssi Karttunen and Henri Demarquette. He participated Masterclasses working with several cellists such as Wen-Sinn Yang, Gary Hoffman, Marion Feldman.

Zih-En was awarded the Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution avec Unanimité et les Félicitations du jury (Diploma superior of Performance with Unanimously adoption and congratulations) with full scholarship at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris.

 

He was Selected and awarded the 1st. New Taipei City "Music Star" The Grand prizewinner of Taipei Symphony Orchestra “The Young talent” concerto competition and Taichung Second Senior High School concerto competition. First prize of Taiwan national music competition. Zih-En has previously appeared as a guest soloist with Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Taichung Second Senior High School Symphony Orchestra. He held his debut cello recital in Taiwan in 2015. He was also invited by New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department for a cello recital in 2016. He gave a concert Midi & Demi at Salle Cortot of Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris in December 2016. He was awarded a scholarship from International Pacing Art Culture Education Foundation in 2017 and have a concert in Taiwan in 2018.He participated the masterclass Cello Akademie Rutesheim working with Cellist Wen-Sinn Yang in Germany, 2018. He was invited by Centre de Chostakovich for a concert in Paris 2019
