The next orchestra project casts its shadow ahead and promises an exciting journey to the musical north for everyone.

For those who would like to get a personal impression of this "Nordic music", the University Library's audiovisual platforms have a lot to offer:

On our streaming platforms Digital Concert Hall and Naxos Music Library, there is the opportunity to experience the works to be performed (and much more besides) in a wide variety of interpretations in sound and image. Whether in preparation for the event, for teaching purposes or for private enjoyment - there should be the ideal recording for every taste and for every "point of view"..

To make the selection easier, here is a small list of suggestions from both platforms with links to the repertoire of the current orchestra project - of course, once you have accessed them, you can search for and find numerous other recordings using the search bar:

Digital Concert Hall

Grieg - Peer Gynt (Conductors: Sakari Oramo, Neeme Järvi, Simon Rattle)

Sibelius - Symphony No. 2 (conducted by Sakari Oramo, Susanne Mälkki, Simon Rattle)

Naxos Music Library

Grieg - Peer Gynt (conductor: Herbert von Karajan)

Sibelius - Symphony No. 2 (conductor: Kurt Sanderling)

Sibelius - Sym phony No. 2 (conductor: Mariss Jansons)

Nielsen- Clarinet Concert o (Soloist: Martin Fröst)

Nielsen -Clarinet Concerto (Soloist: Andreas Ottensamer)

Notes on use:

1. The Naxos Music Library can be used by up to 5 people at the same time - so please close the page on the end device after use to free up the listening space.
The Digital Concert Hall can be used by any number of people at the same time.

2. In principle, all recordings can be accessed directly from the university network (eduroam).

3. For use outside the university, authentication as a university member is required.
For all those who are not (yet) familiar with the external use of the two platforms, there is also a quick guide available as a PDF download.

If you have any questions, please contact: Michael Weiß (librarian) e-mail: michael.weiss@hfmdk-frankfurt.de

4. Online training courses on (personal) access and how to use the two platforms are held regularly.
