The "resourceful" library user has long since noticed: as early as March 2022, more than 26,000 online publications (e-books, e-scores,...) were made accessible via the University Library's online catalog. These titles are license-free titles or titles from the national licenses.

Since summer 2023, the library has been acquiring e-books from the utb library platform and making them available via the online catalog. Here you can find titles from selected publishers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Access to the purchased titles is unrestricted within the university and offers download, copy and print functions. University members log in from outside the university with their university account (Shibboleth access).

In November, Chancellor Kerstin Hort-Schelm signed the large Proquest Ebook Central contract. It is now possible to purchase e-books from other German and international publishers. Depending on the purchase option, there is access for one or three simultaneous or unlimited users. Outside the university network, university members log in with their university account. Please remember to close your account after use so that the titles are available to other people.

Cooperation with other publishing platforms is planned.
